About us

Apex Imports Inc

We are a seafood import and wholesale business based in City of Industry, California. The job is a specific one: move frozen seafood from origin plants into American customers' freezers — reliably, in compliance, and to the agreed spec.

What we actually do

There are many links in a seafood import chain: finding the plant, agreeing the spec, inspecting, booking freight, clearing customs, storing, delivering, and sorting out problems afterwards. Plenty of trading companies handle only one or two of those, which is why customers end up with nobody to call. We run the whole chain, and you deal with one person across all of it.

Most of our customers are in Southern California, and we arrange direct full-container shipments to accounts elsewhere in the country. The work is built around ongoing supply programs rather than one-off opportunistic trades, because restaurants and supermarkets need the same spec available every month, not once.

Why City of Industry

In this trade, location is not a detail — it is the cost and the transit time.

Next to two major ports

Los Angeles and Long Beach are the main US gateways for imported seafood. Our warehouse is under an hour from the terminals, so containers reach cold storage the day they land and spend less time drifting in temperature.

In the heart of the market

The San Gabriel Valley holds one of the densest concentrations of Chinese restaurants and Asian supermarkets in the country. Customers are minutes away, so samples arrive the same day and short-notice top-ups actually happen — which an out-of-state supplier cannot do.

National reach

Beyond local delivery we arrange refrigerated line-haul nationwide, or route full containers straight to a port and third-party cold store of your choosing.

How we work

Not slogans — these are the things we actually hold to when quoting and delivering.

Quote the whole number

Glaze percentage, how net weight is calculated, pack format and Incoterms are stated up front. We do not manufacture a cheap-looking price out of glaze assumptions, and we do not add charges at delivery that were never mentioned.

Say so when we are short

Closed seasons, delayed sailings and plant capacity problems will happen. You hear about it early with alternatives attached, not on the day you were expecting the truck.

Build the account, not the deal

Pricing is built around ongoing programs rather than margin on a single opportunistic load. You can forecast cost, we can forecast volume, and both sides are steadier for it.

Bilingual is the baseline

Spec sheets, quotations, test reports and label copy are available in both English and Chinese. We also talk to origin plants ourselves rather than relaying through a third party.
